Position Summary

We are currently looking for a highly competent Legal Counsel based in Panama City, responsible for leading the advice to the IS/IT and Corporate Services categories with holistic, pragmatic and business oriented legal advice.

A day in the life of a Legal Counsel:

- Provide legal advice as a co-pilot for IS/IT and Corporate Services Categories spend group, fostering proactive relationships with procurement managers.
- Responsible for drafting, review and negotiation of contracts software licenses, cloud services agreements and hardware procurement agreement and providing legal, compliance and risk analysis.
- Advice on legal aspects related to new technologies, including Artificial intelligence, payment platforms and cybersecurity.
- Manage claims and resolve disputes to ensure business continuity and minimize value leakage.
- Enhance awareness of legal matters among procurement managers including training on legal self-service tools.
- Champion transversal topics within the team and drive initiatives.
- Develop best-in-class agreements and implement efficient workflow processes for above market transactions, ensuring alignment with the global Legal & Compliance function.
- Uphold Nestlé's interests in accordance with Corporate and Procurement Policies, including the Nestlé Corporate Business Principles and Code of Business Conduct.

What will make you successful:

- Professionally qualified lawyer with a strong and well-established Post Qualified Experience, including in-house experience in diverse legal environments; a double degree or experience in Swiss or Common Law is advantageous.
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on key business risks, capable of managing high-value, high-risk transactions under pressure while communicating effectively in a business-friendly manner.
- Excellent interpersonal skills with experience dealing with stakeholders from different disciplines and cultures.
- Proficient in applying legal knowledge to gain business advantages, with a solid understanding of intellectual property, digital/AI law, antitrust and business finance.
- Strong business orientation, capable of quickly identifying and addressing key risks and issues in a fast-paced environment, making decisions that align with business needs and procurement strategies, and providing tough advice when necessary.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English.
